Why you should make a trip to the AMA Motorcycle Museum this off-season

Whether you are looking for a winter motorcycle fix to combat cabin fever or are planning your 2016 motorcycle touring season, consider adding the AMA Motorcycle Museum in Ohio to your plans.

Vintage Motorcycle Cabin Fever Cure

If you love vintage motorcycles, the museum is your online destination. The AMA Motorcycle Museum website’s Classic Bikes page is a cool feature that allows you to explore more than 130 classic motorcycles. Start with the 1894 Roper Steamer and read the story, “A Hall of Famer’s Last Ride,” during a race on June 1, 1896. You read that right; he raced a motorcycle way back in 1896. Wow! Now that’s history! From 1890 and every decade forward, you can explore vintage motorcycles from the comfort of home this winter. That virtual experience should seal the deal to include a trip to the museum on your motorcycle during the upcoming riding season.

Experience Motorcycle History in the Real Steel

Why you should make a trip to the AMA Motorcycle Museum this off-season After exploring their excellent website, you will want to visit and experience the vintage motorcycles in all their chrome and steel glory. One of the features on permanent exhibit is The Motorcycle Hall of Fame showcasing the motorcycles, racers and luminaries of motorcycling history. There is a Hall of Fame micro website. As with any world-class museum, there are several exhibits that change from time to time. Current exhibits include Indian motorcycles with models ranging 1928 to 2015. This is especially exciting due to the recent resurgence of interest in all things Indian. There is an exhibit of toy motorcycles built over 50 years by hall of famer Doug Bingham and another that focuses on Craig Vetter’s work on the BSA brand.
